Blogging in 2024 – Is it really worth it?

These days, the SEO landscape is changing very rapidly which ignites the new bloggers to ask this question either blogging in 2024 is worth it or not?

Over the past 6 years, I have been through different phases like that too, and in this article, I will try to provide the best possible answer to all those who wanna start blogging in 2024.

Scope of Blogging in 2024

Well, it’s a common instinct among humans that before they wanna do something, they just want to make sure that that thing is going to be worth their time or not.

So, the same is the case here, As you know blogging is a time-consuming process and it requires consistency also. So you need to be patient and during all of this, you might be thinking. Am I doing this right or not?

Is blogging really worth it in 2024?

If you ask me, I would say, Yes, blogging is totally worth it in 2024 and with the advent of AI and the latest technology, it is also very easy to start your personal blog. All you need is just a domain and any web hosting.

Start from the affordable options, if you are tight on budget.

Domain and Hosting cost usually falls around $70-120/annum. ( Depending on the hosting you have )

You don’t need to invest in themes and plugins, free resources are more than enough for you.

I recommend using the GeneratePress theme, it is very minimal and lightweight also. Its premium version gives you even more customization options but for the start, you don’t need to go for that.

History of changing algorithms

The big reason why people are afraid of blogging today is due to major updates by Google. A few years back, there were hardly 2-3 major core updates in a year.

But now?

Almost every month, there is some sort of new update rolling out.

What’s wrong with these updates?

Well, sometimes these updates can tank your site and sometimes it can also boost your site to the top. That’s why bloggers are afraid of these updates. ( Even me )

So how to survive these updates?

Well, simply follow the guidelines provided by Google in every update of the rollout. For example, the famous HCU also known as Helpful Content Update, brought up this thing that the content must be helpful to the readers.

No irrelevant and unnecessary word count. Keep it simple and concise for the visitor to find out what he is looking for.

How to start?

First, find a niche in which you have spent a good amount of time.

Why?

Because, if you are an expert at something and write an article on that topic, Google considers you an authentic and trusted source for the readers and ranks you quickly.

This thing is known as E.E.A.T which stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trust

In simple words, if you are good at any niche, you can share your insights which helps the user find what they are looking for. This thing gives a positive signal to the search engine and it considers you a good source of information.

But what if you are not an expert at anything?

Worry not, there are still many niches where you work also. The only thing that matters is that the competition in that niche must be low.

If the completion is low, and you are writing a good piece of content, you will rank for sure.

But it will take some time as SEO is a time-consuming thing.

Once you are done with finding your niche, do your keyword research. Create a list of related topics that you will be going to cover, this will help you to build topical authority.

Doing this will increase your authenticity in google and you will outrank big websites too. Just because you have written so much on a single topic which the other sites don’t.

Now, here comes the main part.

Writing the articles…

How you are going to tackle this?

Since this guide is for beginners, I suggest you write the article manually. Do not rely completely on AI, use your mental power to write creative articles and share your thoughts and insights which helps the reader to understand what you are trying to convey.

Once you have spent so much time reading and writing the article, you know how to write an article that both Google and the reader will like, you can use AI to scale this thing.

Wrapping up
